I wanted to let everyone know that I am withdrawing my candidacy for the Property Appraiser. After many long hours of thinking, talking, and praying, I have come to the conclusion that serving this county as the next Property Appraiser is not in my or my family’s best interest.
I earned my Masters degree in accounting in 2017 in order for me to become a CPA when I retire from this office. That was my original plan and it is what I truly want to do. I have had a passion for accounting since before high school and have always wanted to be a CPA, but it has never been in the cards for me until recently.
Additionally, I have been dealing with several health issues over the last couple of years. Thankfully, it appears I have nothing very serious, but I still have a long road ahead of me to get back to a state of good health and the source of a persistent cough that I have is still not known. The added stress of running a campaign is making it difficult or maybe impossible for me to regain my health and I need to be in the best health I can for my family,
So, for these reasons and a few others, I am withdrawing. I want to thank all of you that have supported and encouraged me over the last several months.
Also, I ask all of my supporters to please consider supporting Jimmy Cowan in his campaign for Property Appraiser. He has worked for the office for 27 years and is currently the Director of Residential Real Estate. I have known him for 30+ years and he is very knowledgable, dedicated to our office, and a great guy all around. He is an excellent choice for our next Property Appraiser.
